Brass The goal of the department is to prepare students for a life in the
world in professional music - both playing and teaching.
This preparation consists of:
• the basics of brass playing: (tone production, timing, intonation, range, endurance, learning various established styles and traditions, etc.), as well as
• the creative process: (improvisation, composition, interaction, discovering a personal voice, etc.).
The tools implemented are: various method books and CDs: Arbans, Rochut, Coker, Abersold, etc.), as well as solo transcriptions (transcribed by the students!), of various artists.
All students are expected to participate in a variety of combos and large ensembles. It is further expected that the student take responsibility for his/her own future and work together with various tutors in order to fulfill needs and goals.
